  • Short term car insurance could be covered by your provider
  • If you are renting a vehicle, the rental company will offer short term insurance

Though that’s not always the case, coverage for a limited period does exist.

Short term insurance is not always available with standard insurance providers. Though some do offer policied for out of state travel and other circumstances.

Allstate offers an insurance policy for those taking a road trip from the United States to Mexico. GEICO offers coverage to rental cars.

Progressive has a similar program called non-owner car insurance. However, this insurance is only for when you are driving a car that is not yours, not necessarily short-term coverage.

Though Esurance doesn’t specifically state it’s rental coverage, it’s worth a call to your agent.
